419 Scam – 419 scammers solicit funds for tsunami victims
The same criminals who pose as email lotteries, corrupt bank employees, lawyers or family members of dead dictators in the "419" advance fee fraud seem to be taking advantage of the death of thousands in the COVID-19 pandemic. Here are examples of emails that bear marks of the "419" advance fee fraud but are solicitations for money supposedly for fighting the virus.
