419 Scam Example: "Asian Pacific Promotion / Pacific Promotions lottery"
"Asian Pacific Promotion / Pacific Promotions Bangkok Thailand / Pacific Promotions Organization / ASIAN PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL PROMOTIONS" are various labels used for a lottery scam run by scammers based in Thailand, probably a group of Nigerians. No such lottery actually exists. The whole point is to trick would-be winners into sending money to the scammers.
Basically any "email lottery" involving a "computer ballot system" that supposedy drew your address from a large pool email addresses is a 419 scam. Fake lottery scams operate out of West Africa, South Africa, the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium and other European countries as well as Thailand, Indonesia and China. It is currently the biggest type of advance fee fraud run by mostly Nigerian gangs.
If you reply to such fraudulent mails, you will never receive any money. Instead the scammers are after your money. If you are not sure about any such emails, check them with the following link or post them in the forum of Scamwarners.com.
