419 Scam Example: "TOYOTA CAR PROMOTIONS"

"TOYOTA CAR INTERNATIONAL PROMOTION PROGRAM / TOYOYA CAR PROMOTIONS / TOYOTA CLAIMING SECURITY AGENCY / TOYOTA FORTUNE LOTTO DRAW" is a fake lottery scam run by Nigerian gang abusing the name of the car company. Similar scams exists under the names "KIA FORTUNE DRAW", "HONDA CAR LOTTERY" and "BMW Land Car Lottery". Toyota Motors does not run any lottery that randomly selects email addresses and awards cars and cash to the owners.

Legitimate lotteries do not operate internationally. Therefore they do not have any foreign agents. Prizes for any legitimate Japanese lottery would have to be claimed in Japan. No lottery run by any Japanese company uses any agent or bank in mainland China (country code: +86). Any "Japanese" lottery that involves a phone number starting with +86 (China) or +852 (Hong Hong) is by definition fake. See also Japan Email Lottery, a similar and possibly related scam.

Please forward us copies of any replies or money demands by the ""claims agents" (Yahoo Mail: Forward / as Attachment, Outlook Express: Message / Forward as attachment, see "How to report 419 spam to us"). We will publish such replies here.

Please forward copies of fraud emails to the abuse department of the webmail address listed as the contact email for the "claims agent". Ask for the addresses to be suspended because they are used in a 419 fraud (see 419 FAQ).
